To say that
we are rescuing horses from a sport that we love and support would be very hypocritical. The racetrack in it’s self
is not a place of abuse and starvation that is depicted in other rescue cases. The abuse is often seen after a misunderstood
horse ends up in the wrong hands. Many of the racetracks throughout the country have adopted a policy promoting the humane
treatment of racehorses. Under the policy, any trainer or owner who directly or indirectly participates in the transport of
a horse to either a slaughterhouse or an auction house engaged in selling horses for slaughter will be prohibited from having
stalls.
We work with
the responsible breeders, owners and trainers of the Race Horse. They are making a conscious effort to ensure that their horses
find a lasting home after their racing career ends. Their integrity can be seen in the "Encore Thoroughbred".
